Get to Know Global Captive Management
Global Captive Management Ltd. (GCM) is a Cayman Islands based captive insurance manager with a strong international presence. We pride ourselves on the experience, expertise, and passion that each of our team members bring to every captive insurance program we manage. Going far beyond financial reporting; we are a resource for overall captive insurance operations including but not limited to alternative risk programs, government regulation, and corporate services.
For more than 40 years, GCM has built a reputation for excellence and a proactive approach to navigating the evolving global captive insurance landscape. Our independent spirit enables us to provide clear, objective advice and develop custom captive insurance solutions that align with each client’s unique risk profile and strategic objectives.
Founded in the Cayman Islands in 1982 by Peter MacKay, GCM has grown into one of the most established captive management firms worldwide. We have extensive experience in managing captives across a wide range of industries, structures and domiciles, including segregated portfolio captives (SPC), group captives, single-parent captives, and section 953(d) captives.
Our deep technical knowledge, combined with a flexible, client focused approach, allow us to deliver independent guidance and practical solutions. We share the same goals as you, which means we can build a more successful future together.
In September 2019, GCM was acquired by Holmes Murphy, a long -standing partner in the property and casualty group captive space. This partnership has strengthened our capabilities while preserving our independent spirit. GCM also partners with its sister company Innovative Captive Strategies (ICS), supporting several of ICS’ captive programs, through a professional relationship that spans more than two decades.
In 2025, GCM launched Outcomes SPC, its own segregated portfolio company. Outcomes SPC provides a flexible and efficient captive solution for organizations seeking to establish a captive structure without forming a standalone entity. This approach enables speed to market and cost efficiency while maintaining robust governance and regulatory standards.
As of early 2026, GCM is licensed to manage U.S.-domiciled captive insurance companies in several U.S. states. This capability allows us to directly support clients with both offshore Cayman captives and U.S. domestic captive insurance solutions, offering a fully integrated approach to alternative risk management.
