At GCM, we believe in the power of community engagement and the importance of contributing beyond our regular 9-to-5 roles. Our employees are passionate about giving back, and their dedication to various volunteer organizations showcases their commitment to making a positive impact. We’re excited share the inspiring stories of some of our team members and their community outreach efforts.
Cayman Heart Foundation
The Cayman Heart Foundation aims to improve cardiovascular health in the Cayman Islands through public education, influencing policy, and supporting access to high-quality care. Jayfel Laciste, one of our Account Managers, is inspired by the foundation’s public education initiatives, particularly their efforts to prevent heart disease, stroke, and risk factors through informative presentations and outreach programs.
Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise
The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise promotes service as a worthy enterprise, fostering high ethical standards in business and professions, and advancing international understanding and peace. Their initiatives include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment. Kareem French, a GCM Account Executive, is currently the director – he’s been a member since October 2022 and has worked with Rotary programs since 2007.
Kareem’s journey with Rotary began in high school and has been a significant part of his life ever since. He is particularly inspired by a medical mission trip to Honduras, where he helped provide free healthcare to remote villages. Another memorable experience was seeing a childhood friend undergo heart transplant surgery funded by Rotary. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rotary’s efforts to support frontline workers and distribute packages to the less fortunate deeply resonated with him.
Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman
Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults, emphasizing service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. The club aims to enhance personal development, address community needs, and foster better relations between people worldwide. As the Foundation Chair, GCM Account Executive Tamara Mayers is inspired by the Breaking Bread initiative, where Rotaract partners with Breaking Bread Charity to provide breakfast to the homeless. She is also passionate about the Global Polio Eradication initiative, which includes various activities like video campaigns and fundraising events to support the cause.
one2one Cayman
one2one provides children, youth, and young adults with positive, sustainable mentoring relationships. Their goal is to help young people overcome obstacles and build life skills to achieve their dreams. GCM Vice President James Trundle values the mentoring program, having undergone all the necessary training before becoming a Director. He is also excited about the new teen parent mentoring program, which aims to provide crucial support to young parents in the Cayman Islands.
Victory Tabernacle – Church of God of Prophecy Cayman
As the Assistant Director for the Audio Visual Department, GCM Vice President Charlene Tilbanie was inspired by the Youth and Children’s Conference held in May 2023, which focused on mental health. This project underscores the organization’s commitment to reaching the next generation and addressing important topics like mental health.
Caring for Our Clients & Community
