EFG'S 2015 MARKET OUTLOOK

15 January 2015

The below EFG report discusses their market outlook for 2015.

EFG expect 2015 to see a continued US recovery. Europe and Japan still lag far behind in their post-crisis adjustment. Emerging markets will remain tricky, but China’s reforms will succeed.

Global economic growth is expected to be fine, if unspectacular. Their models suggest that OECD growth will be around 2.2% in the year, similar to 2014.

For 2015, EFG generally prefer equities to bonds. US government bonds will, they think be under pressure from rising short-term interest rates and, potentially, greater inflationary pressures.
